We initially had the task to clean up the Daisy Park and increase awareness of the future projects in the area. We took our time to explain to children the impact of litter on our environment, village and animals. Yes, we made it educational too.

During the clean up we started talking and made new friends in the village. Last but not least as we were clearing an area we came across old bricks, which used to me made locally, a bit of history unfolded before our eyes. And a bit of the explanation about the name of the park...Daisy Park. Well, in the old days, the children used to make Daisy chains whilst waiting for their dads to finish their work at the brick factory and this is why Daisy Park.

To sum up, within 1h and 20min we cleared the area from rubbish, met nice people, helped children better understand the impact of litter on the environment, and learned more a bit of the history of our village, now how about that? - In total including some boxing day picking over 20 hours of volunteering and 200kg of rubbish collected from the site.

You all made us proud, it was a real pleasure to have you volunteers on board!
